Nigerian singer, Simisola Ogunleye alias Simi, has shared that poverty is being weaponized by people in power for their selfish interests.
For this reason, the ‘Duduke’ crooner took to her Twitter page to implore people to donate to an NGO set up to feed the underprivileged in Lagos.

The NGO known as Project F.E.E.D (Feed, Educate, Empower, Develop) was created as an offshoot of the #EndSARS movement.

In Simi’s words:

“We can all agree that poverty, hunger has been weaponized by the powers that be. We can be a part of the solution. Follow them and pls donate whatever you can to help the cause. If you can’t, that’s ok. Please spread the word”

Sensational singer, Simi has revealed how her 5 months old baby, Adejare has taken total control of her social media.
According to the mother of one, her daughter keeps toughing her phone and might one day mistakenly result in her posting some gibberish online.

Sensational singer, #Simi has revealed on Instagram the impact that her song “Duduke” has on her daughter, Adejare and how she usually reacts to the song anytime it comes on.
According to the mother of one, although her daughter can not say how much she likes the song but her reactions every-time the song plays is always priceless.

The 33 year old also mentioned that the song is the biggest song of her career and she is grateful to God and her daughter for inspiring the beautiful song.

Read all she wrote below;

“I had the biggest song of my career, so far, in the craziest year of all our lives. “God” is the only explanation I will ever accept!

I played this song just now as I was breastfeeding my child, and she had dozed off for abt 20 seconds, but she suddenly perks up, raises her head, looks in my eyes and smiles at me.

She stays that way for a bit and I was confused, so I go “what happened baby?” My mum says “it’s the song.” My heart skips. I mean she loves it when we sing to her or play her music, but her reaction was so specific tonight.

She knows her song. I’ve always felt that way because it’s what my mum plays to get her to calm down, and she must have heard it a thousand times while I was pregnant – but her reaction hit different today.

I shared that to say this song wasn’t only good for my career or my fans or for other moms – most importantly, it makes my baby happy. I wrote it for her and she knows it. I don’t know if I can really explain how giddy that makes me.

Duduke has exceeded my expectations x 10000000 and I’ve genuinely never felt that way about any one of my songs before.

So I just wanna say “THANK YOU” to all the people that deserve the thanks, but especially to God and Adejare for inspiring me. And also to say we got 20 million views on Youtube. #GodisTheGreatest”

Nigerian Sensational singer, #Simi signed a partnership deal with American Music platform, Platoon Music.
Making the announcement via her socials, Simi posted a video of her talking with some of the executives of the Platform.

She also made it known that she would soon be releasing her forthcoming EP, ‘Restless’ under the label.

She wrote;

“New week and new deal. I’m officially part of the @weareplatoon family! #RestlessII coming soon”

She now joins DJ Cuppy who signed with Platoon a few months ago before the release of her album, “Original Copy”.

Simi was an artist under X3M Music under the expiration of her contract with the label and went to establish her own label called, “Studio Brat”.

Platoon, launched in 2016, enables artists to distribute their music independently — by adding a wealth of label-like services. These include A&R (signing and developing talent), plus marketing, funding, video editing suites, recording studios and fiscal business management.

#Simi has apologized to the LGBT community following a “homophobic comment” she passed off in her YouTube show ‘Stoopid Sessions”.
The singer had said that homosexuality is not natural in the YouTube Show.

Simi said “they (LGBT) say they’re born that way, but I haven’t seen any biological proof”.

However weeks after the comment ignited an outcry on social media, the singer has tendered an apology via a tweet she shared.
Simi who stated that she understands what discrimination is as a woman, averred that no one deserves the hate the LGBT community is often shown. She also disclosed that she is learning.

A Nigerian man named Wisdom Obi Peter has threatened to rape the daughter of singers, Adekunle Gold and #Simi after throwing several jabs at them on Twitter.

Recalls the couple announced the arrival of their daughter, Adejare on Sunday.

Reacting to the news, the troll tweeted hateful and horrible things about the couple and he threatened to rape Adejare whenever she turns 18.

Wisdom also said that he prays the newborn child doesn’t end up being stupid like her mother.

The troll also blasted both parents for naming their daughter, Adejare, saying it would have been better if they named her ‘stupidity’.

Singers Adekunle Gold and #Simi have been described as the ultimate benchmark of privacy in relationships.
